# Design of Single-Angles in Steel Column Module

Why the Steel Column and 2D Frame modules cannot design single-angle compression members.

## Why won't the Steel Column module design single-angles?

The 2D Frame module and the Steel Column module are not able to design single-angle compression members, because they almost always require a design that considers flexure and buckling about the principal axes according to AISC provisions. These modules are unable to perform that design, so they simply indicate that a hand calc is required.
