# Force all installations to use the "Automatic Activation/Deactivation"

How to force all installations to use Automatic Activation and hide the option to change it via a registry key.

## How can we force all installations to use the "Automatic Activation/Deactivation" option to maximize free seats and minimize IT questions?

Users who want to set many installations to Automatic also commonly want to remove the option for users to *change* that setting within the individual installations. To hide the option to change the activation type on the software, create the following registry key in Computer`\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ENERCALC\V20\License`:

ForceAutomatActivation = 1
